Jarrah Timber

JARRAH. Eucalyptus Marginata

The magnificent West Australian Jarrah grows only in the South west corner of Western Australia. Jarrah timber is deep red to red-brown, medium hardness and heavy, generally straight grained but sometimes contains fiddle back (also called curly) grain. Can contain pockets of dry brown sap.

Jarrah furniture displays the rich deep red to red-brown tones and smooth grain found only in this hardwood. At 820kg per cubic meter it’s equally as durable as Red Gum. With features like this you can have fine timber furniture that stands the test of time.

The Jarrah Tree (Eucalyptus Marginata) is found in the far south west corner of Western Australia. Some of the previous uses for Jarrah include wharves, bridges and railroad ties. Before modern asphalt the streets of Berlin and London were paved with blocks of jarrah.
